O: Removed bandages from the hocks. Able to remove scabs from caudal aspects of hocks, soft tissue intact and healthy but slightly erythematous. Bottom of feet caked over with unknown material, unable to remove. Covered with dermagel. TL dropped 30g rat.

A: Bird BAR, temp okay today, scabs peeled off and skin looks good underneath - no need to keep in care for scabs.

P: Try off heat support, check temp and hocks tom - if still doing well ok to try to reunite.

S: Standing in back rigth corner. Clacked once.

O: HF 30g rabbit/rat, wearing camo; dropped the remaining 10g rabbit/rat, wearing camo.

A: BAR. Took pieces from tweezers well, always holding food in beak for a few seconds before swallowing. Was a bit reluctant to take pieces towards the end, but still ate all but 10g.

S: Standing behind mirror w/ R foot tucked. Clacking and flaring wings.

O: Collected fecal. Checked temp. Collected blood from R medial metatarsal. Both hock bandages came off. Cleaned scabbing on both hocks w/ chlorohex and applied manuka honey/duoderm gel and covered w/ telfa/gauze/tegaderm. Gave fluids. Body feathers dried and smell is a little less than yesterday. Placed back in cage and increased heating pad to medium.

LRS SQ: 16.30 cc (LRS) SQ

A: Both hock scabs are very dry/adhered to skin and will require multiple rounds of lubrication. Placed more padding and tegaderm to hocks to keep bandages on. Buffy coat is also high and will start on antibiotics. Temp was below normal levels and will keep a close eye while on increased heat support. Baby appears to have regurge some of food that was hand fed last night. Lowered food amount as baby has not been self feeding yet either. Weight is up. Baby will likely need to remain in care due to hock scabs causing some infection. Will prioritize reading CBC.
Weight change: +24 g (7 %)

P: Rx TMS. BID bandage changes on hocks. Monitor for regurge. Recheck blood in a week.

Some reactive lymphs. Count a bit high for a baby. Will see how current antibiotics help will recheck blood in a week if still here. Lots of leukocytozoon.

O: Hand fed 29g rat, dropped 12g rat. Collected 4g rat leg scrap.

O: Performed intake exam. Took rads. Gave bath w/ warm water and some dawn soap. Gave fluids. Cleaned hock scabs w/ chlorohex and applied Duoderm gel, covered w/ telfa/tegaderm. Placed back on low heat pad.

Other: Noted 1 cast.
Radiographic findings: NSF
Initial treatment: 20cc LRS SQ.

A: No wounds found on baby. Feathers are muddy and smells like baby sat in dog poop from finder's yard. May need another bath if smell continues. Apparently healthy baby with thickened skin and light scabbing on hocks. Too small to leave baby on own, looks like it is just barely getting to be brancher age. Parents were very active during field exam and is a likely candidate for renesting.

P: Rx fluids. HF in AM/PM. Check IOPs, collect blood, collect fecal 5/11. Vet check 5/12. Set up renesting if cleared. Change hock bandages SID and apply Duoderm gel.

Performed field exam. Noted baby very smelly and feathers around body were dingy. No wounds found, but too small to leave on own. Brought back to hospital and placed in ICU on low heat pad.
